Everything could happen in La Romana at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Caneros Del Este and 5th ranked Leones SD had identical 5-5 record. This time Caneros Del Este used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Santo Domingo 88-84. American forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. Jaison Colome contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Jose Corporan (-88) added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Leones SD. Five Caneros Del Este and four Leones SD players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Caneros Del Este (6-5) moved-up to second place. Leones SD lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Soles SD and Metros STGO. Caneros Del Este will play against bottom-ranked Indios SFM (#6) in San Francisco in the next round. Leones SD will play at home against the league's leader Reales LV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
