Regular Season Round 3: Alginet - Gandia 81-68

Rather predictable result when Alginet (1-1) won against at home Gandia (1-1) 81-68 on Sunday. Alginet dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gandia's 24 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Gandia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Javier Dalmau who led his team to a victory with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Luis Verdeguer (205-87) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Joaquin Rodenas (186-90) answered with 32 points and point guard Joan Hernandez (184-97) added 8 points in the effort for Gandia. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alginet will face UCAM Murcia II (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gandia will play against Cartagena and hope to win that game.
