Regular Season Round 2: Holon - Ashdod 103-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Maccabi Ashdod (0-1) on the court of Hapoel Holon on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Hapoel Holon 103-86. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Ashdod's 34. Hapoel Holon shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Power forward Latavius Williams (203-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. Guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) produced 17 points and 6 assists and forward Noah Dickerson (203-97, college: Washington) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Holon is looking forward to face Galil Gilboa (#4) in Rosh Pina in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
