Regular Season Round 4: Arad - Targu Mures 76-34

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Arad as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Nationala. Arad smashed bottom-ranked Targu Mures at home 76-34. The game without a history. Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Targu Mures to just 4 points in second and third quarters. Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures' 18. Arad forced 24 Targu Mures turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Adrienne Webb (175-90, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 steals and naturalized Cypriot guard Veatriki Akathiotou (166-95) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Five Arad players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Brittney Dunbar (173-93, college: Weber St.) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Cristina Badi (178-93) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Targu Mures at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Targu Mures will play next round against strong Cluj Napoca trying to get back on the winning streak. Arad will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Oradea at home.
