Rather expected game when bottom-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (0-4) lost to top-ranked Diamond Dolphins (4-0) in Nagoya 65-75 on Sunday. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) contributed with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Diamond Dolphins' coach Shingo Kajiyama used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Jessie Govan (185-97, college: Georgetown) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: WVU) added 16 points in the effort for San-en NeoPhoenix. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix still closes the standings with four games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Ryukyu GK (#4) in Okinawa in the next round. San-en NeoPhoenix will play at home against Yokohama BC and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
