Regular Season Round 3: MBC - Brose Bask. 96-99

An interesting game took place in Weissenfels where Brose Baskets (2-1) edged by three points Mitteldeutscher BC (1-2) 99-96 on Sunday night. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 35-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Brose Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a great evening for forward Louis Olinde (205-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Brose Baskets' coach Roel Moors used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American forward Michael Gbinije (201-92, college: Syracuse, agency: Wasserman) with 25 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brose Baskets will meet at home Giessen 46ers (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Braunschweig (#5) and hope to win that game.
