Regular Season Round 4: Sokol Prazsky - USK Praha 65-104

Everything could happen in Praha at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked USK and 9th ranked Sokol Prazsky had identical 1-2 record. But Sokol Prazsky was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Praha 104-65 on Sunday night. USK dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol Prazsky's 32. USK forced 20 Sokol Prazsky turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Center Kristian Kocab (197-2) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ondrej Svec (195-3) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five USK players scored in double figures. Point guard Richard Gottfried (163-1) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Filip Staniszewski (188-2) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. USK (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Orli Prostejov and BA Nymburk. Loser Sokol Prazsky keeps the ninth position with three games lost. USK will face Slavoj (#9) in Litomerice in the next round. Sokol Prazsky will play on the road against Hradec in J.Hradec and hope to win that game.
