Regular Season Round 6: Ryukyu GK - Akita NH 69-87

Another exciting game was played in Okinawa between fifth ranked Akita Happinets and one of their biggest challengers Ryukyu GK where Akita Happinets (3-2) beat Ryukyu GK (2-3) on the road with 18-point difference 87-69. Akita Happinets made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Akita Happinets outrebounded Ryukyu GK 32-17 including a 23-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. American forward De'Mon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) replied with 20 points and international guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka E. Ryukyu GK at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Yokohama BC. Akita Happinets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryukyu GK will play again at home against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
