Regular Season Round 5: Dist.Olimpico - Alcala 67-77

Everything could happen in Madrid at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Alcala and 6th ranked Dist.Olimpico had identical 2-2 record. But Dist.Olimpico was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Alcala 77-67 on Saturday night. Power forward Juan-Gabriel Martinez (198-93) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Sergio Rodriguez (194-84) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Jorge Viejo (191-1, agency: Interperformances) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Gabriel Gil (200-1) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Dist.Olimpico players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcala (3-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Dist.Olimpico at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Alcala will face Tenerife Naut. (#15) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dist.Olimpico will play on the road against Tobarra (#12) and hope to win that game.
