Regular Season Round 5: Andorra - Burgos 87-74

Round in Liga Endesa means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Andorra where host Andorra (3-2) beat league's leader Burgos (4-1) 87-74 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Burgos. They outrebounded Burgos 44-27 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Andorra looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Senegalese center Moussa Diagne (211-94, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Dominican Tyson Perez (202-96) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Diagne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville, agency: BeoBasket) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and Brazilian center Augusto Lima (206-91) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Andorra moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Burgos at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with FC Barcelona and Zaragoza. They were replaced at the leadership position by Real Madrid. Burgos will play next round against Valencia Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Andorra will try to continue on its current victory against eighteenth ranked Real Betis in Sevilla.
