Date: October 19, 2019
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Castello and 15th ranked Almansa had identical 3-7 record. But Almansa was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Castellon 85-67 on Saturday night. Castello dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Almansa's 30. Quite impressive performance for Serbian Brano Djukanovic (194-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Dutch forward Joey van-Zegeren (208-90, college: Northwestern) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: Amer.Internat., agency: Duran International) added 13 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Almansa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Castello went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Newly promoted Almansa dropped to the fourteenth place with eight games lost. Castello will face higher ranked Leyma Basquet (#3) in Coruna in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Almansa will play on the road against Oviedo CB (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
