Regular Season Round 6: Niigata A. - Hokkaido L. 78-68

Round in B1 League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Niigata where host Niigata A. (1-5) beat league's leader Hokkaido L. (4-2) 78-68 on Saturday evening. Niigata A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Hokkaido L. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: UNC) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Hokkaido L.'s coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Niigata A. maintains fifth position with 1-5 record, which they share with Shimane SM. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Nagoya DD and Tochigi B.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kyoto H.. Hokkaido L. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Niigata A. will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Hokkaido L. in Saporro.
