Regular Season Round 7: Ryukyu GK - Akita NH 78-71

An interesting game for Ryukyu GK (3-3) which hosted in Okinawa their close opponent Akita Happinets (3-3). Fourth ranked Ryukyu GK managed to get a 7-point victory 78-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akita Happinets. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward De'Mon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St., agency: HMS) came up with 22 points and 6 blocks and the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Akita Happinets in the defeat. Akita Happinets' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ryukyu GK moved-up to second place, which they share with Akita NH and Yokohama BC. Ryukyu GK will meet Shiga L-Stars (#5) on the road in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Chiba J. and hope to secure a win.
