Regular Season Round 7: Shiga L-Stars - Nagoya DD 78-83

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-5) lost at home to second ranked Diamond Dolphins (5-2) 83-78 on Sunday. Diamond Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 30. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-85, college: Mississippi St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) added 23 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader Kyoto H., which they share with Hokkaido L. and Tochigi B. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Osaka E. (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shiga L-Stars will play against Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
