Regular Season Round 5: Itzehoe - Rist Wedel 85-93

SC Rist Wedel's road win over 6th ranked Itzehoe 93-85 was very exciting. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Itzehoe. SC Rist Wedel made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Itzehoe turnovers and had a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Itzehoe was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jalen Ross (183-93, college: Hartford) stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and point guard Justus Hollatz (191-1) chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds. Dutch forward Chaed Wellian (204-92, college: Tennessee St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Croatian-Bosnian forward Marko Boksic (201-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 24 points. Five Itzehoe players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. SC Rist Wedel (3-2) moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Bernau and Duesseldorf. Loser Itzehoe dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face SSV Lok Bernau (#4) at home in the next round. Itzehoe will play against Iserlohn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
