Regular Season Round 2: Minas - Rio Claro 90-89

A very interesting game took place in Belo Horizonte. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Rio Claro (2-3) to Minas (1-4) 90-89 on Tuesday evening. Minas made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Rio Claro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Leandro Barbosa (190-82) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) produced 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Argentinian point guard Fabian Sahdi (186-89) added 20 points and 7 assists (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rio Claro's coach Fernando Penna rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Minas' next round opponent will be Pato Basquete (#15).
