Regular Season Round 8: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 76-78

Important game to mention about took place in Shiga. Fourth ranked Ryukyu GK (4-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-6) 78-76 on Wednesday evening. The winners were led by the former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward De'Mon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-85, college: Mississippi St.) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. His fellow American import swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ryukyu GK moved-up to second place, which they share with Osaka E. and Yokohama BC. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Shimane SM. Ryukyu GK will play against San-en NeoPhoenix (#6) in Hamamatsu in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
