There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Grindavik (1-3) beat at home higher ranked Njardvik (1-3) 78-66 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Njardvik was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: Tennessee St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Grindavik left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Njardvik. It was Njardvik's third loss in a row. Grindavik will face Fjolnir (#9) in Reykjavik in the next round.
