The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Apollon P. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Apollon P. defeated 6th ranked Koroivos in Patra 85-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Koroivos. The game without a history. Apollon P. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Koroivos' 30. Fotios Zoumpos (194-93) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Angelos Tsamis (192-81) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Apollon P. players scored in double figures. Forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Israeli guard Marios Matalon (186-89, college: Wyoming) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Apollon P. have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Koroivos at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with Psychiko. Koroivos will play next round against Psychiko trying to get back on the winning streak. Apollon P. will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Eleftheroupoli in Kavalas.
