Regular Season Round 8: Lietkabelis - Dzukija 91-73

No shocking result in a game in Panevezys where fourth ranked Lietkabelis (4-2) defeated bottom-ranked Dzukija (1-5) 91-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Dzukija managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Dzukija's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Dzukija's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Martynas Sajus (208-96) who added 14 points and 5 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland, agency: SDJ Sports) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lietkabelis moved-up to third place. Dzukija lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Lietkabelis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dzukija will play against Siauliai (#7) and hope to win that game.
