Regular Season Round 10: Nagoya DD - Yokohama BC 77-74

Second-ranked Yokohama BC (4-5) was very close to win a game against first ranked Diamond Dolphins (8-2) in Nagoya on Sunday. Diamond Dolphins managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) supported him with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds by Turkish center Reginald Becton (206-91) did not help to save the game for Yokohama BC. Naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: UC Merced) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the second place with five games lost. Diamond Dolphins will meet Niigata A. (#5) on the road in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against Shiga L-Stars and hope to secure a win.
