Regular Season Round 6: Golden St.W. - OKC Thunder 92-120
Date: October 27, 2019
Thunder can celebrate finally their first win this season after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Oakland, where they outplayed Warriors (0-2) 120-92 on Sunday. Thunder made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Thunder had a 42-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was German-Gambian point guard Dennis Schroeder (181-93) who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (198-98, college: Kentucky) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Stephen Curry (190-88, college: Davidson) who recorded 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Omari Spellman (207-97, college: Villanova) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder (1-2) left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Warriors still closes the standings with two games lost. Thunder will face Rockets (#3) in Houston in the next day, which may be the game of the day. Warriors will play at home against Pelicans and hope to get finally their first victory.
