Regular Season Round 5: MuKi - FoKoPo 114-84

Very expected game when bottom-ranked FoKoPo (0-5) was smashed by fourth ranked MuKi (3-2) in Helsinki 114-84 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by MuKi. FoKoPo was better in third quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by FoKoPo's players. Point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Power forward Emil Uotila (198-0) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. MuKi's coach Jukka-Pekka Erakangas felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and forward Aku Haikonen (201-96) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for FoKoPo. Four FoKoPo players scored in double figures. Despite that victory MuKi went down to sixth position (Division) due to points difference. Loser FoKoPo still closes the standings with five games lost. MuKi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki HBA-Marsky.
