Regular Season Round 4: Cherkasy - Prometey 90-85

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Prometey (6-1) on the court of fourth ranked Cherkasy on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Cherkasy 90-85. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Prometey. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Prometey won fourth quarter 28-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Prometey helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Olexandr Belikov (201-92) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Denys Lukashov (197-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cherkasy maintains fourth position with 4-3 record. Newly promoted Prometey still keeps top place with one game lost. Cherkasy are looking forward to face Mykolaiv (#8) on the road in the next round. Prometey will play against Zaporizhye (#6) in Zaporozhye and is hoping to win this game.
