Rather predictable result in Quakenbrueck where twelfth ranked Lions (3-5) defeated 14th ranked Artland Dragons (1-6) 86-73 on Thursday. Lions made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Lions outrebounded Artland Dragons 36-23 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Maurice Pluskota (208-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Lions' coach Ivan Rudez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Jannes Hundt (182-96) responded with 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) scored 18 points. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Lions moved-up to tenth place. Artland Dragons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. Lions will face BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#11) at home in the next round. Artland Dragons will play against Rostock (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
