Very important is a home loss of third ranked Rockets (3-2) against fourth ranked Nets (2-3) on Friday night. Host Rockets were defeated by Nets in a tough game in Houston 116-123. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rockets. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Rockets 55-40 including a 45-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nets shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 59.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Taurean Prince (201-94, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Australian-American guard Kyrie Irving (190-92, college: Duke) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. Nets' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) produced 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) added 27 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Five Nets and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Nets moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Rockets at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Nets' next day opponent will be Pistons (#5) in Detroit.
