Regular Season Round 7: HyPo - ToPo 66-78

Bottom-ranked HyPo (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-66 loss to fourth ranked Torpan Pojat (4-3) in Hyvinkaa on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 49-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Torpan Pojat made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 HyPo turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Alex Louin (183-96, college: Villanova, agency: Promo Sport ID) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her fourteen free throws !!!). Forward Ida Myllyoja (180-96) helped adding 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Serbian power forward Kristina Baltic (188-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of her eight free throws) and power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (182-90) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Torpan Pojat maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. HyPo lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Torpan Pojat will meet at home league's leader Kouvottaret in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HyPo will have a break next round.
