Regular Season Round 4: Olimpi - TSU 89-76

TSU (3-1) recorded its first loss in Tbilisi on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Olimpi (2-2) 89-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TSU. The game without a history. Olimpi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Olimpi forced 19 TSU turnovers. The former international guard Revaz Rogava (192-93) fired 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American forward Akiean Frederick (206-96, college: Kent St.) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Olimpi players scored in double figures. Olimpi's coach Dmitri Jakobov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ricky Madison (201-97, college: High Point) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and international power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Olimpi moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kutaisi and Batumi. TSU at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Vera. Olimpi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
