Regular Season Round 7: MKS DG 2 - AZS AWF Mick. 103-93

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Dabrowa Gornicza where 3rd placed AZS AWF Mick. (5-2) was defeated by fourth ranked MKS DG 2 (5-1) 103-93 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in Group C. MKS DG 2 made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 AZS AWF Mick. turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 assists. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) helped adding 24 points. Four MKS DG 2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) responded with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jakub Strozczyk (191-99) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for MKS DG 2. They moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with AZS AGH KR. Loser AZS AWF Mick. dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. MKS DG 2 will face Rybnik (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
