Regular Season Round 7: Real Madrid 2 - Dist.Olimpico 82-81

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Dist.Olimpico (2-5) was edged on the road by third ranked Real Madrid II (6-1) 82-81 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Dist.Olimpico outrebounded Real Madrid II 37-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Italian guard Matteo Spagnolo (191-3) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Tristan Tsalikis (208-3) chipped in 21 points. Point guard Andres Rico (189-97) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Enrique Ruiz (202-85) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Real Madrid II. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Rivas and Quintanar. Dist.Olimpico lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. Real Madrid II will face Alcala (#4) at home in the next round. Dist.Olimpico will play against the league's second-placed Rivas (#2) and hope to win that game.
