Everything could happen in Las Palmas at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Albacete and 9th ranked Gran Canaria II had identical 3-4 record. But Gran Canaria II was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Albacete 78-74 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and guard Victor Aguilar (185-98) who added 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. Ruben Lopez (205-2) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese center Khalifa Diop (211-2) scored 8 points and 15 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria II players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Albacete maintains eighth position in Silver with 4-4 record. Newly promoted Gran Canaria II keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Albacete will face higher ranked L'Hospitalet (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gran Canaria II will play against La Roda and hope to win that game.
