Date: November 2, 2019
Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Leiden (4-1). They were crushed by fifth ranked Den Bosch (5-2) 109-83 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leiden. The game was mostly controlled by Den Bosch. Leiden managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leiden 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Den Bosch shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Leiden's players. American-Italian swingman Henry Caruso (193-95, college: Santa Clara) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Elijah Wilson (193-94, college: Coastal, agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Den Bosch's coach Jean-Marc Jaumin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Tayler Persons (191-95, college: Ball St.) with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and international Worthy de-Jong (194-88) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Den Bosch moved-up to third place. Leiden at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Rotterdam. Leiden will play next round against Den Helder trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Den Bosch will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
