Regular Season Round 7: Ostrow Mazow. - AZS UJK Kielce 93-103

There was a minor upset in Ostrow Mazowiecki where 6th ranked Ostrow Mazow. (3-4) was defeated by eighth ranked AZS UJK Kielce (3-3) 103-93 on Saturday. AZS UJK Kielce made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Maciej Marcinkowski (193-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Michal Szwedo (200-97) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Norman Zuber (190-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Maciej Cukierda (195-91) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Four Ostrow Mazow. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS UJK Kielce moved-up to seventh place in Group B. Loser Ostrow Mazow. dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. AZS UJK Kielce will face Pabianice (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ostrow Mazow. will play against the league's leader Radom II (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
