There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Giessen 46ers II (3-4) edged higher ranked OrangeAcademy (3-4) in Ulm 88-85 on Saturday. Giessen 46ers II made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Wyatt Lohaus (188-95, college: N.Iowa) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Giessen 46ers II's coach Rolf Scholz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) answered with 21 points and guard Marius Stoll (193-99) added 7 points and 8 assists in the effort for OrangeAcademy. Giessen 46ers II moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated OrangeAcademy. Giessen 46ers II will face Oberhaching (#12) in Deisenhofen in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
