Regular Season Round 6: Kormend - Szedeak 96-84
Date: November 2, 2019
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kormend (5-1) beat at home 13th ranked Szedeak (1-5) 96-84 on Saturday. Kormend shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jordon Varnado (198-97, college: Troy) notched 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) supported him with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by American Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Szedeak. Croatian forward Ante Krapic (203-85) added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kormend and four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kormend maintains third position with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Falco-Vulcano. Loser Szedeak dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with Sopron KC. Kormend will meet KTE-Duna (#6) in the next round. Szedeak will play against DEAC (#8) and hope to win that game.
