Regular Season Round 11: Toyama G. - Ryukyu GK 69-91

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Toyama G. (4-7) was rolled over at home by third ranked Ryukyu GK (7-3) 91-69 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Yuki Mitsuhara (198-89) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. International forward Naoki Uto (188-91) responded with 16 points and 6 assists and American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain third place with 7-3 record behind leader Kyoto H., which they share with Alvark T. Loser Toyama G. keeps the third position with seven games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round. Toyama G. will play again at home against Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
