Very expected game when 6th ranked Jairis (2-3) was defeated at home by leader Alginet (4-0) 78-72 on Sunday. Forward Denis Tokaev (200-91) fired 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Miguel Martinez (183-95) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals. Point guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) produced 8 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and power forward Dario Sarrias (200-95) added 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alginet. They maintain first place in Group E-B with 4-0 record. Jairis lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with three games lost. Alginet will face league's second-placed Calpe at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jairis will play against Gandia (#3) and hope to win that game.
