Regular Season Round 7: La Fecha - Goierri 76-70

There was no surprise in Arroyo Encomienda where bottom-ranked Goierri (0-5) was defeated by fifth ranked La Fecha (4-2) 76-70 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Jorge Martinez (185-96) fired 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Hector Parras (198-89) chipped in 14 points. La Fecha's coach Roberto Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jon Igartua (184-97) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Inigo de-la-Hera (-99) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Fecha maintains fifth place in Group A-A with 4-2 record. Goierri lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. La Fecha will face league's second-placed Pas Pielagos in Renedo de Pielagos in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goierri will play at home against Arha Hoteles (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
