Arad (2-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Cluj Napoca (3-1) 64-62. It was a key game for the second position in Nationala. Arad was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Arad helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman Mariah King (188-90, college: EIU) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import forward Artavia Ford (190, college: PVAMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Adrienne Webb (175-90, college: LSU) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Arad's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cluj Napoca moved-up to second place in Nationala. Arad at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
