No shocking result in a game in Taiyuan where Brave Dragons (2-0) defeated Sturgeons (0-2) 115-107 on Tuesday. Brave Dragons made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Brave Dragons outrebounded Sturgeons 50-35 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Sturgeons were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import center Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Four Brave Dragons players scored in double figures. The former international Zhelin Wang (214-94) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: UNC) added 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brave Dragons will have a break next round. Sturgeons will play at home against Eagles (#11) and hope to win that game.
