Everything went according to plan in Toronto where third ranked Raptors (6-2) beat 5th ranked Pelicans (1-7) 122-104 on Friday. Raptors made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam (206-94, college: N.Mexico St.) had a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and British forward OG Anunoby (201-97, college: Indiana) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Brandon Ingram (206-97, college: Duke) with 27 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jrue Holiday (193-90, college: UCLA) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Denver N. Pelicans lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Raptors will have a break next day. Pelicans will play at home against the league's second-placed Hornets (#2) and hope to win that game.
