Regular Season Round 8: Sokol Prazky - Sokol Pisek 82-111

1Liga top team - Sokol Pisek (8-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Sokol Prazky (3-6) in Praha 111-82. They outrebounded Sokol Prazky 54-34 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sokol Pisek looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by power forward Pavel Englicky (208-83, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and point guard Miroslav Prochazka (184-0) supported him with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by guard Jan Sop (185-96) did not help to save the game for Sokol Prazky. Point guard Tomas Gavenda (182-96) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Sokol Prazky's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Sokol Pisek maintains first position in West with 8-1 record. Sokol Prazky lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Sokol Pisek will meet at home Sokol Vyseh. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Sokol Prazky will play against Basket Kosice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
