Regular Season Round 13: Kyoto H. - Akita NH 78-100

Leading Kyoto H. (8-5) recorded its fifth loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by sixth ranked Akita Happinets (7-5) 100-78. Akita Happinets forced 20 Kyoto H. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) nailed 28 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and guard Ryuto Yasuoka (188-95) accounted for 19 points. Akita Happinets' coach Kenjiro Maeda felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) came up with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Rashaan Holloway (211, college: Massachusetts) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Kyoto H. in the defeat. Four Akita Happinets and five Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets moved-up to fourth place. Loser Kyoto H. dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Nagoya DD. Akita Happinets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyoto H. will play again against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
