Regular Season Round 13: Kawasaki BT - San-en NP 97-80

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (0-13) lost to first ranked Toshiba Thunders (10-3) in Kanagawa 80-97 on Saturday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Quite impressive performance for international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: WVU) answered with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import center Jessie Govan (185-97, college: Georgetown) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for San-en NeoPhoenix. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders maintains first place with 10-3 record. San-en NeoPhoenix lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face again San-en NeoPhoenix (#6) in Hamamatsu in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
