There was an upset when second-ranked TSU (3-2) was edged at home by tenth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (2-3) 78-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 27-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cactus Tbilisi dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TSU's 30. Cactus Tbilisi forced 23 TSU turnovers. American guard Brian Williams (187-92, college: Jacksonville St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Justin Everett (206-96, college: Humboldt St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Ricky Madison (201-97, college: High Point) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for TSU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kutaisi. TSU at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Cactus Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
