Regular Season Round 13: Okayama - Kanazawa 107-89

Very expected game when 11th ranked Kanazawa (2-11) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Okayama (6-6) 107-89 on Saturday. Okayama made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Okayama outrebounded Kanazawa 40-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kanazawa's players. Kanazawa was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall, agency: HMS) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Okayama players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) responded with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Takehiro Yamaguchi (182-94) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Okayama maintains seventh place with 6-6 record. Kanazawa lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Okayama will face again bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#12) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
