Regular Season Round 7: Goettingen - EWE Baskets 104-87

BG Goettingen's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked EWE Baskets (4-3) 104-87 on Sunday. BG Goettingen made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 63.0 percentage. BG Goettingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-92, college: TCU, agency: Two Points) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Dylan Osetkowski (206-96, college: Texas) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American point guard Tyler Larson (190-91, college: S.Dakota) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for EWE Baskets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BG Goettingen (1-6) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with MBC. Loser EWE Baskets keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Vechta and Wuerzburg. BG Goettingen will meet higher ranked Hamburg (#13) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. EWE Baskets will play against Telekom Baskets (#12) and hope to secure a win.
