Regular Season Round 7: Vienna - St.Poelten 79-93

Date: November 10, 2019
Everything went according to plan in Vienna where sixth ranked UBC St. Poelten (4-3) beat 8th ranked Hallmann (1-6) 93-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by UBC St. Poelten. Hallmann was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. UBC St. Poelten had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. German guard Philip Jalalpoor (188-93, college: UBC, agency: Blacktop Management) helped adding 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Five UBC St. Poelten and four Hallmann players scored in double figures. UBC St. Poelten moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Wels. Hallmann lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. UBC St. Poelten will face league's second-placed Dukes in Klosterneuburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hallmann will play on the road against Gmunden Swans (#4) and hope to win that game.
