Regular Season Round 13: Silales Lusis - Silute 76-89

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Silute (10-2) beat 13th ranked Silales Lusis (4-8) in Rietavas 89-76 on Thursday. Silute dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Silales Lusis' 32. Silute forced 19 Silales Lusis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Byron Sanford (182-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Simonas Serapinas (197-82) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Mindaugas Cepauskas (186-89) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and forward Valdas Undraitis (200-90) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Silales Lusis. Four Silute and five Silales Lusis players scored in double figures. Silales Lusis' coach Valdemaras Kasmauskas tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Silute have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga and Telsiai. Newly promoted Silales Lusis dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Silute will face league's leader Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Silales Lusis will play on the road against Jonava (#15) and hope to win that game.
