Regular Season Round 22: Santos - Abejas 62-100

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Santos (7-14) were smashed by fifth ranked Abejas (11-8) in San Luis Potosi 100-62 on Thursday. Abejas looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Santos' players. Quite impressive performance for American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Spencer Williams (188-95, college: Wooster) contributed with 30 points for the winners. American center BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Jean-Emmanuel Pierre-Charles (203-93, college: Ottawa) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Santos. Santos' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Abejas maintains fifth position with 11-8 record. Santos lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Abejas will face Astros (#6) in the next round. Santos will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes and hope to win that game.
